The work must be kept in an environment protected from intense or direct light and free from moisture. UV rays are harmful and can alter the colors, as well as the components of humid air alter the pH of the substrates, which can damage the integrity of the work and contribute to the proliferation of fungi.
The lighting must also be controlled, and the use of special lamps with constant color temperature – 5,000K is recommended. In this way, the printed photograph will carefully follow the original colors and contrasts.
The setting must follow strict conservation standards, thus ensuring the protection of the work. When not in the frame, it is recommended to use a pH neutral passe-partout wrapped in greaseproof paper or in a polyester envelope, both neutral pH.
